Raiders Select Defenceman Andrlik in Import Draft
The Prince Albert Raiders selected Tomas Andrlik 37th overall in today’s Canadian Hockey League Import Draft.

Andrlik, a left-shooting defenceman, split last season with HC Plzen’s Under-18 and Under-20 teams, totalling 6 goals and 17 assists for 23 points and 65 penalty minutes in 41 games.

The October, 1995-born rearguard spent the 2011-2012 season playing 41 games for HC Plzen Under-18, scoring 4 goals and 10 assists and amassing 128 penalty minutes. In 2010-2011, the 6-foot, 185-pound Czech Republic native recorded 33 points in 35 games along with 114 penalty minutes and a plus-37 rating with Plzen’s Under-16 squad.

Internationally, Andrlik has represented the Czech Republic at the 2012 World Junior “A” Challenge and the 2012 World Under-17 Challenge in Windsor, Ontario where he faced off against current Raider Josh Morrissey, who was representing Team Pacific. The two blueliners also met at the 2012 Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament last summer in the Czech Republic.
